Jane Monheit

“Monheit has great chops, a terrific voice.” — All About Jazz

Jane Monheit brings one of the most admired voices in contemporary jazz to the Great American Songbook. Praised by The New York Times for “a voice of phenomenal beauty,” Monheit has spent more than 25 years building an international career defined by elegance, warmth, and deep musical intelligence.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Monheit first gained national attention when she placed second in the Thelonious Monk Institute’s vocal competition at age 20. By her early twenties, she was recording and performing with jazz greats including Ron Carter and Kenny Barron, launching a career that has since included 13 studio albums, global touring, and appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Village Vanguard, and Birdland.

Known for her luminous interpretations of standards, Brazilian music, and adult contemporary repertoire, Monheit brings a rare balance of technical command and emotional openness to every song. Her collaborators include Terence Blanchard, John Pizzarelli, Christian McBride, Ivan Lins, Vince Mendoza, and Jorge Calandrelli, while her television appearances span Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show, and The View.

For audiences who love the timeless sophistication of the Songbook, Jane Monheit delivers an evening of expressive vocals, impeccable phrasing, and songs performed with the intimacy and polish of a true jazz storyteller.
