About The Hot Sardines

The Hot Sardines are co-founded by Elizabeth Bougerol (vocals, storytelling) and Evan Palazzo (piano, onstage bandleading), with an ensemble that includes a deep bench of some of the finest traditional jazz musicians in the United States today. Their music draws from the hot jazz of Louis Armstrong, the stride piano of Fats Waller, the smoky glamour of Parisian cabarets, and the rollicking energy of New Orleans — reanimated for a contemporary audience that, it turns out, has been waiting for exactly this. Emerging a decade ago from the underground parties of Brooklyn to touring worldwide and recording a string of albums that’s racked up more than 60 million streams, the Hot Sardines’ own “potent and assured” (The New York Times), “simply phenomenal” (The Times, London) brand of reinvigorated classic jazz landed them at the center of a whirlwind. Their newest album, Good News, was released this past June.
