Shadows of the 60s

A Tribute to Motown

Shadows of the 60s pays tribute to the tremendous legacy of Motown’s supergroups, celebrating legendary artists including The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Temptations. This highly interactive and visually striking production brings their music to the stage with top industry musicians, powerful vocals, and exquisitely designed costumes—all delivered with the energy and intensity of the original recordings.

Each singer and musician was chosen to embody the spirit, style, and excitement of the artists they honor. Close your eyes and hear the magic of Motown; open them and experience the feeling of a front-row seat at a live Motown concert, circa 1964.

The experience behind the production runs deep. Founder and creator Dave Revels spent part of the 1980s performing with The Drifters, including appearances alongside original members Charlie Thomas and Elsbeary Hobbs, and later became lead singer and arranger/producer for The Persuasions. He also opened for The Four Tops and appeared in NBC’s Motown Returns to the Apollo.

The ensemble includes musicians and vocalists whose careers have crossed paths with many of the artists whose music they now celebrate. Musical director and guitarist Melvin Miller Jr. played in the Motown pit band, worked alongside legendary bassist James Jamerson, and co-wrote songs recorded by The Supremes. Other members have performed with artists including The Four Tops, The Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Drifters, Chuck Berry, Donna Summer, Lou Rawls, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, and more.
