2022 | RATED R | RUN TIME 108M

Join us for a special in-theatre screening of Peacock’s political thriller, The Independent, along with an exclusive talkback after the film with the film’s Director, two-time Emmy-nominee Amy Rice (“BY THE PEOPLE: The Election of Barack Obama”), and Screenwriter (and Mamaroneck High School alum) Evan Parter. Moderated by Matt Sullivan, independent filmmaker and Executive Director of LMC Media.

Directed by two-time Emmy-nominee Amy Rice (“By the People: The Election of Barack Obama”), The Independent opens in the final weeks of the most consequential presidential election in history. America is poised to elect either its first female president or its first viable independent candidate. Reporting history as it’s made, an idealistic young journalist teams up with her idol, legendary journalist Nick Booker, to uncover a conspiracy that places the fate of the election, and the country, in their hands.

Produced by Anonymous Content, Park Pictures, and Next Productions. Starring Brian Cox (“Succession,”) Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim,”) John Cena (“Vacation Friends,”) Ann Dowd (“Handmaid’s Tale,”) Luke Kirby (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,”) Stephen Lang (Avatar) and Michael Gandolfini (“The Many Saints of Newark.”) The film was directed by Emmy-winning Amy Rice (HBO’s “By the People.”)

Evan has several projects in development including a  feature for Next Productions about two men who escaped from Auschwitz concentration camp, with Alex Wolff set to star and Oscar-winning Aaron Schnieder attached to direct. As well as a feature for Amazon Studios about the Watergate scandal with Chris Pine attached to star, and Billy Ray (“Captain Phillips”) attached to produce.
