Peridance Contemporary Dance Company (PCDC) is a trailblazer in dance performance and education. Founded in 1983 by Artistic Director Igal Perry, PCDC is renowned for its visionary choreography and commitment to an inclusive, dynamic environment.
Based at the acclaimed Peridance Center in Union Square, the company features a diverse roster of 17 international dancers. PCDC has performed at prestigious venues like the Joyce Theater, Lincoln Center, and BAM, and has toured globally to audiences of over 48,000. Their international presence spans festivals and venues, including Jacob’s Pillow, the Suzanne Dellal Dance Centre, and the Seoul International Dance Festival.
PCDC not only showcases Perry’s signature works but also actively commissions new pieces from emerging and established choreographers. Over the past decade, they’ve premiered works by 21 choreographers and collaborated with 48 musicians and composers, continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary dance.
Our Spring 2024 Film Club loved Call Me Dancer, a film about Manish Chauhan’s climb to success as a dancer in New York after moving from Mumbai.
