Stanley Jordan’s trio transports you back to 1969 as they jam on Hendrix hits including All Along the Watchtower and selections from his famous Woodstock setlist with tunes like Hey Joe, Purple Haze, Voodoo Child, Foxy Lady, and more. Jimi Hendrix was the first guitar player Stanley Jordan idolized, as Jimi’s passing influenced him to pick up the guitar at age 11. Even as a jazz legend, Jordan had the desire to pay tribute to his first musical influence, creating Stanley Jordan Plays Jimi. His 1985 album Magic Touch was #1 on Billboard’s jazz chart for 51 weeks, Stanley and has worked with artists such as Benny Carter, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Les Paul, Eddie Van Halen, BB King, Steve Miller, David Gilmour, Billy Cobham and has appeared on numerous TV shows with Jay Leno, David Letterman, Johnny Cason, and Jimmy Fallon.
