2024 National Ladies of Laughter Professional Winner
Poppy is a comedically trained from Chicago Second City Training Center.
One of the most versatile comics in the country, her stand-up resume is extensive: Winner of America’s Funniest Real Woman on The Joan Rivers Show; featured on Entertainment Tonight, Showtime, LOGO, Comics Unleashed, Comedy Central, VH-1, HBO and Oprah. Poppy was recently inducted into the Rhode Island Comedy Hall of Fame and has opened for such comics as Ray Romano, Denis Leary, Bill Maher, Bill Hicks and Rosie O’Donnell.
2021 National Ladies of Laughter Professional Winner
Liz Glazer is an award-winning standup comedian, actor, and writer. Liz won first place in the Boston Comedy Festival and Ladies of Laughter Competition, has been featured in a full article in the Wall Street Journal (as well as Above the Law, Lex Magazine, the Pennsylvania Gazette, and other publications), and has opened for Myq Kaplan and Maria Bamford. Liz was also a part of the Seattle International Comedy Competition and will be a part of the upcoming HBO Women in Comedy Festival. As an actor, Liz has appeared on ABC’s For Life and CBS’s Bull, and is on the faculty at Lesly Kahn & Co., the Los Angeles acting studio. Liz is also writing a television pilot about her life, a draft of which was a semi-finalist in the Stage 32 writing competition.
Liz began her career as most standup comedians do: as a tenured law professor. AND THEN, Liz gave it all up to do comedy, where her material draws from her own life as a lesbian, a rabbi’s wife, and a former lawyer.
Ladies of Laughter Professional Finalist
Award winning comedian Mina Hartong (Curve Magazine Funniest Lesbians, Joe’s Pub, Broadway Comedy Club, Burbank Comedy Festival) is an Emcee, Educator and Funny Lady. Based out of New York City, Mina has been performing and touring for over twenty years. Her favorite shows include Don’t Tell Mama’s, Gotham Comedy Club, Gay Games Amsterdam, Provincetown, and the Montreal Fringe Festival. Mina has performed in Pride Festivals around the world, including Iceland Pride where she marched next to the lesbian mayor! When she is not on stage, Mina enjoys teaching Stand-up Comedy and developing new comics. Mina produces and hosts her own comedy and variety show Lez Out Loud, which just had their tenth sold out show in Palm Springs, CA. She taught Theater in public schools for 20 years.
