Ruthy Ferrera

2024 Ladies of Laughter National “Newcomer” Winner from Westchester, NY (Appeared at Emelin Theatre in 2024 Competition)

Ruthy is a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) comedienne and has always been the life of the party since she was born. Ruthy was born in her mother’s friend’s living room, giving Ruth automatic bragging rights to say she was born to entertain. Ruthy loves and bleeds entertainment, and has worked in every area within entertainment from radio, TV, magazines, Theaters, movies, comedy clubs, etc.

This Bla-tina (Black Latina) was first comedian to open the brand-new Copacabana nightclub in NYC, was heard on the Howard Stern show and has featured for Latino Legend Comedian, Joey Vega, who is long-time opener for GRAMMY recording artist, Marc Anthony.

Ruthy has been selected to perform and compete at countless comedy festivals throughout the New York Tri-State, including the Latina Comedy Festival in Chicago and can be found making people laugh at New York Tri-State comedy clubs, casinos and venues.

Whether she’s shooting a short film, dishing out laughs around the country at comedy shows and competitions; comedy clubs (including The Improv, New York Comedy Club, Stand Up New York); the world-renowned, Apollo Theatre; colleges and universities; churches; company function; (and, admittedly, birthday party barbecues); acting in plays; performing on live television; hosting a comedy showcase; or doing her thing on YouTube, G.L. has been blessed to have found favor in her career pursuits. (Gotta admit, this gal works hard…) Now adding to her resume is her adventure on the VH1 hit reality show MONEY HUNGRY.

Cathy Boyd

2012 Ladies of Laughter Finalist

Cathy Boyd has performed Nationally and Internationally. She has performed in Ontario, Montreal, New Brunswick – Maine, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Las Vegas, Nevada, California, Montana, Rhode Island, and as far away as Barcelona and Madrid, Spain. She gets around which is also the rumour she is trying to spread about herself!

Cathy Boyd is a Toronto-based, brutally honest stand-up comedian, mediocre tennis player and mother of four who readily admits, three would have been good. She’d have been good with three. She hit the comedy scene a little late in life but quickly made up for it by being crowned comedian of the north in 2019, an appearance on Season 1 of Canada’s Got Talent and most recently becoming a rostered comic at Yuk Yuks Comedy Clubs.

Luz is a fierce and fearless woman who has used her diverse background and life experiences to carve out a thriving career in comedy. With her distinct style and quick wit, she has left audiences in stitches at renowned venues like Caroline’s, Gotham Comedy Club, and The Stand.

Luz  is also the voice behind “Dear Luz,” a monthly advice column in Westchester’s Connect To Magazine, where her wit and insight shine through.
