SUMMARY:Pure Prairie League
DESCRIPTION:Pure Prairie League\n \n \n \n \n \n Thursday\, March 9\, 2023 @ 8pm\n \n Purchase Tickets | $67/$62/$52\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Best known for their iconic #1 hit “Amie\,” Top 10 hits “Two Lane Highway\,” “Let Me Love You Tonight\,” “I’ll Fix Your Flat Tire Merle” and “Early Mornin’ Riser\,” along with their classic Norman Rockwell inspired cowboy album covers\, PPL bridged the gap between country and rock. Original members Mike Reilly (bass\, vocals) and John David Call (pedal steel) are joined by Donnie Clark (guitar\, vocals)\, Randy Harper (keyboards\, vocals) and Scott Thompson (drums\, vocals). \nNow in their fifth decade\, Pure Prairie League continues to lead the way for the new generation of Country/Rockers such as Keith Urban\, Nickel Creek\, Wilco\, Counting Crows and so many others that cite PPL as a major influence. As crisp and clean as spring water and as comfortable as a well-worn cowboy shirt\, Pure Prairie League still brings it all back home. \nAs one reviewer recently wrote: “PPL’s sound combines sweet memories with edgy\, contemporary muscle. Their vocals are as strong as Kentucky moonshine and the musicianship and performance skills are as sharp as a straight razor”. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Purchase Tickets | $67/$62/$52

SUMMARY:Ladies Of Laughter
DESCRIPTION:Ladies Of Laughter\n \n \n \n \n \n Saturday\, February 18\, 2023 @ 8pm\n \n Purchase Tickets | $37/$42/$47\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Ladies of Laughter is back! Grab your friends and spend a raucous evening with some of the funniest women doing stand-up today. For over twenty years\, Ladies of Laughter has served as a launching pad for female comedic talent\, with past participants ranging from Amy Schumer to Melissa Rauch. Buy your tickets soon because the “ladies” typically sell out! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Leighann Lord\nLeighann Lord’s “heads up humor” is stand-up comedy at it’s finest. Inspired by the brilliance of George Carlin\, the smooth jazz style of Franklyn Ajaye\, and the elegance of Rita Rudner\, Leighann has crafted her own unique brand of Thinking Cap Comedy. It’s no wonder she received the NYC Black Comedy Award for “The Most Thought Provoking Black Female Comic.” And for two consecutive years\, Leighann was Harlem Week’s official comedian. (The only other comedian in Harlem Week’s history to earn that distinction was Richard Pryor.) Leighann has performed around the world. A festival favorite\, she’s been featured in the Trinidad\, Montreal\, Winnipeg\, Halifax\, Boston\, Detroit and NYC Underground Comedy Festivals. just for them. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Marion Grodin\nFor the last decade\, Marion Grodin has been one of the hottest comics in the country. She is a favorite at New York City’s top clubs\, including Standup NY and Gotham Comedy Club\, where she regularly headlines. As one of the country’s top emcees\, Marion’s incredible ability to improvise has allowed her to master the art of talking with the audience. Always willing to be as self-revealing as she is probing of the audience…this affectionately edgy style has become Marion’s trademark. The result is a hilariously personal show that makes the audience feel like it was custom-made\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Kim Berns\nKim is a radio host and podcast host of “What’s the Story?”and “Cook and Comic” on I-Tunes and Spotify. DESCRIPTION:BUSTER KEATON’s 3 Ages\n \n \n \n \n \n Wednesday\, January 18\, 2023 @ 6:30pm\nFree Screening!\n \n Free | RSVP Required\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 1923 | Comedy/Silent | 1hr 51m | Not Rated \nJoin us as we kick off the Mamaroneck Library’s Centennial Movie Series with a special free screening of Buster Keaton’s first feature film and one of the funniest comedies of the silver screen. \nThe rituals of courtship\, romantic rivalry and love play out three times as a Man (Buster Keaton) vies with a Villain (Wallace Beery) for the Girl (Margaret Leahy). In the Stone Age\, the rivalry is set off by dinosaurs\, a turtle used as a Ouija board\, and a round of golf with stones. In ancient Rome\, the men display their brawn through a chariot race\, using dogs instead of horses. In contemporary times\, the Man finds himself overcome by modernity\, including a very fragile car. \n“…filled with such wonderful visual wit…[Keaton’s] eye for comedic detail remains unparalleled.” – From The Front Row \nThe film will be accompanied by an original musical score created by Kurt Coble\, performed live by Kurt Coble on violin and Donald Sossin on piano. \nThis event is in partnership with the Mamaroneck Library’s Centennial Movie Series.Adults will enjoy a complimentary flute of champagne to toast the start of the Series. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n“Matt Schofield is widely considered one of the best blues guitar players walking the planet…” – Kevin Klein\, medium.com
