Saturday Nights @ 8pm: Mar 10 | Apr 21 | May 12, 2018
The “eclectic performance series” (The New Yorker), provides a rare opportunity to see multiple world-class performances by some of the leading New York City dance companies who are redefining the art form. A lively and fun Q&A with the dancers and choreographers follows each event to learn more about what inspires their work.
Now in its fifth amazing season at the Emelin, we’ve added an exciting new mix to the series. The Emelin and DOTG curator Andrea Snyder have collaborated with two prestigious New York dance organizations to create an incredible program for the 2017-18 season. New York State DanceForce, committed to increasing the quantity and quality of dance throughout the state, and Dance/NYC which awards outstanding and groundbreaking creative work by independent dance artists in NYC (The “Bessie” Awards), have each curated an evening of dance at the Emelin. The third and final performance of dance will feature three more companies, which will be accompanied on stage with live music.
